BenZen was built by Ted McNeil — a solo founder who spent years frustrated with the gap between how health insurance *should* work and how it actually works, especially for people managing chronic conditions.

The Founder Story

Ted lost family members to diabetes. He watched friends get denied coverage because of preexisting conditions. He watched patients spend hours on hold trying to figure out if their medication was covered. He got frustrated enough to build something better.

What started as a knowledge base ("I'll just write down what I've learned") became a media company ("I'll publish this so other people can learn too") which became a platform ("I can automate this with AI and reach more people at once").

BenZen is now a health insurance media and technology company operating in ten states, with a chatbot powered by unified health insurance datasets and licensed broker expertise.
